This was too short to be broken up into three installments, it should have been one book. And $3.99 is more than I'll pay for a novella, sorry. I should have paid more attention when I downloaded it, that it's only 136 pages.There was a lot of time in this book spent rehashing events that take place in the Legal Affairs series (I'm guessing, I haven't read that series), and I kept wishing the author would focus on the characters at hand.
Cal's capable lawyer persona was at odds with his horny teenager persona, that became annoying pretty quickly. Macy's only POV was a couple of journal entries, so it was harder to get a feel for her character.
The sex scenes between Cal and his ex were kind of off-putting, even though he and Macy weren't together, the fact that he was thinking about Macy was kind of gross.

Clash is a great book. I love Cal and Macy! They are like oil and water.
Macy has something to hide and can't wait to find out what it is. Cal appears so straight laced but he has a side of kink you wouldn't expect. The bantering is between the two is priceless just like the story. The story is hot and this is just book 1!!!
Sawyer has once again started a series that is proving to outstanding. I can't wait for the next book in this series!!!
This is book 1 of a trilogy that ends in a cliffhanger. There is some LOL banter between the H/H, and some smoking, hot chemistry that will have you turning the pages quickly.
It is written well with interesting characters and an intriguing plot. The cliffhanger leaves you muttering under your breath...
Was an interesting start - all though I am not sure what kind of issues Macy has that throwing an outrageous first birthday helps to solve.
I am very frustrated with authors that break the story up into several parts - this is only 136 pages long - about the same length as the next two.
It doesn't really end on a cliff hanger - but the story is really just starting. I won't read the rest of the series. The three novellas when put together equal one book. I don't like to be forced to buy more books to finish a story.
Cal and Macy HATE each other. When Mac and Matt have them in the same room for an extended amount of time, the bickering usually escalates from simple bickering to screams filled with barbed insults. When Macy throws a party for little Aaron, Mac and Matt’s son, a heated verbal exchange transforms into a frenzied physical altercation, none like either have ever experienced before. What do you do with the intense dislike you have for someone, when your body is craving that same being?
No other author writes the sizzling passion that Sawyer Bennett does. Another great book. 5 stars
Sawyer Bennett..you once again got me hooked!!! Let me clarify, more like addicted. Clash...what a perfect and fitting title for this story of Cal and Macy of Legal Affairs. Two polar opposite personalities who have nothing in common. Well they do have two things in common, they are both the best friends of Mac and they both can agree that one hot sexual encounter in the food pantry was off the charts steamy.
Cal Carson is a successful lawyer who is looking for a relationship where he can settle down. He is the monogamous type. Whereas, Macy Carrington is young, beautiful, wealthy, and doesn't do relationships. But what people don't know is that Macy has these secrets from her past that haunts her. She uses sex as her outlet to numb the pain.
That one passionate encounter in the pantry was one that neither could forget. And Macy usually does not do repeat and for the first time, she was willing to break her own rules because there was something in Cal that sparked something inside her. The sex was simply raw and explosive. When Macy finds herself being sued, Mac asked Cal to take on the case. So can Cal resist his attraction to Macy? Or will Macy's sexual advances be his downfall in keeping the lines of lawyer and client professional?
As always, Ms. Bennett did a terrific job introducing what I think would be one hot and sexy series. Cal and Macy's sexual attraction is so magnetic that I can't wait to see what is to come in the next installment. Another hot and sexy read from the talented Sawyer Bennett.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - At first this seems like a fluff piece but there is way more to Macy than meets the eye. It would be easy to dislike the rich snob ice princess but we get hints at something dark boiling under the surface. Cal & Macy love to irritate each other & throw out insults now & then but when Macy throws an elaborate party for Mac & Matt's baby Cal is sick of the little penis jokes. He aims to prove his size when surprisingly Macy takes him up on his offer, even though Cal wasn't exactly offering anything at the time. Into the pantry they go, hot & heavy & actually really dirty! Macy has moves that give a pro a run for her money! The entire book is in Cal's male perspective which I love but sporadically we get into Macy's head while she writes in her journal. Through their mutual best friend Mac Cal knows that Macy doesn't do repeats, she participates in One Night Only which is fine but Cal is at a point in his life where he wants the romance that Mac & Matt have found. So he goes back to ex-girlfriend Camille to give her one more shot which is impossible with pantry-sex-with-Macy running through his mind 24/7. Macy might be one of those girls who hides behind sex, something that takes away the pain & loneliness for a little while. Cal is set to represent Macy against the spouse of a man she slept with through One Night Only. I think through this experience Cal will find out that Macy does in fact play by the rules of One Night Only & she tries to be a good person. He is also figuring out that she gives quite a bit of money to charity & doesn't have any kind of personal relationship with her parents, all of which intrigue him. Great start to the series & even though their sexual chemistry is filthy I have a feeling Cal will be the friend & the lover Macy needs to heal her past.
